Just out of curiosity, I started looking at houses online. I figured it was just wishful thinking. Turns out, there are some affordable places out there…woohoo!
We spent the next month or two trolling around online looking at different types of properties, different prices, in a variety of locations. We made a list, only 14 houses or so and decided to try and tackle them all in one long weekend. Ugh.
Our real estate agent Lesley gave us some great advice and tried to help us build a realistic list of what we could accomplish in a weekend. Our main goal was to see a variety of places so we could really narrow down what we liked and how much of a project we were willing to take on.
We planned for a weekend in October, booked our flights and off we went!
